WHS Fine Arts Gala and Exhibition to be held on April 30

WHS Fine Arts Gala and Exhibition to be held on April 30

Press Release:  The 2015 Westborough High School Fine Arts Gala and Exhibition is sponsored by the Westborough Fine Arts Education Association, and serves as a fundraiser to support district-wide programs and provide scholarships to graduating seniors.

This year’s Gala will be held on Thursday, April 30th at Westborough High School from 5:00 pm until approximately 9:30 pm.   The event will showcase the talents of over 500 students in Music, Theater, and Visual Arts.  Among the honors earned by Westboro ensembles this year are Gold and Silver ratings at the 2015 MICCA Festival and a Gold Key in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Competition.
5:00-9:00 pm: Silent Auction (ongoing). This year’s auction will also be available online beginning on April 23rd at the following link: http://bit.ly/wfaea2015gala.  The live auction will end after intermission of the concert.
Complimentary appetizers and desserts will be served.
5:30-7:30 pm: Visual Arts display in the upper auditorium lobby with small ensembles performing in the upper and lower auditorium lobbies.
7:30 pm: Concert in the auditorium featuring all performing ensembles, including bands, orchestras, choruses and small groups.
The WHS Choirs will be performing as the Choral Union presenting a piece titled Everyone Sang. This piece was commissioned by the WHS Choirs with a grant from the Westborough Cultural Council. The piece was written just for WHS Choirs by Boston-based composer, Dr. William Cutter, and the world premiere of the piece will happen during the Gala Concert. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for our students. I hope you come and support your student and hear the world premiere of Everyone Sang.
Due to assigned seating in the auditorium, as well as high demand for tickets, it is recommend that you reserve your seats in advance of this performance.  Please note that this event is not included as part of the Family Concert Pass series.  A ticket order form can be found at http://bit.ly/wfaea2015galaflyer
