Former American rapper, record producer, and record executive Sean Combs, also known as Puffy, Puff, Puff Daddy, and most recently Diddy, has a very controversial past. After Combs was accused of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting others for prostitution, he was arrested on September 16th, 2024. Since then, Combs was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution and is currently incarcerated, but he was found not guilty on the more serious charges of trafficking and racketeering. Many have been wanting to hear more, and understand the whole story of Combs’ and his victims.
On December 2nd, 2025, the story was released on Netflix in a docuseries titled: “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” produced by American rapper and actor, 50 cent. This docuseries has four episodes, each an hour long, covering various aspects of Combs’ life, intertwined with numerous interviews and raw footage of Combs himself.
Throughout the docuseries, there was a lot of focus on the complicated relationship between Combs and Cassie. Combs met Cassie in 2005 when she was only 19. The series even touched upon the death of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G, and Sean Combs’ alleged involvement in them. Furthermore, there were many interviewers with inside sources, such as Aubrey O’Day, Kirk Burrowes, his former assistants, Capricorn Clark, and two jurors from Combs’ trial. These interviews were shocking.
O’Day shared her not so professional relationship with Combs, her boss. Their professional relationship began when she was recruited by Combs to the girl group Danity Kane. She read out loud explicit emails sent to her during her time working under Combs, they consisted of inappropriate, sexual comments and recommendations. With that, he was extremely controlling with all of the girls’ appearances, especially O’Days. After O’Day refused to follow through with Combs’ sexual desires, she got fired and believes Combs tried silencing her with an NDA. Later in the docuseries, O’Day emotionally reads a note from a supposed witness of her alleged rape by Combs and another man, the note read that they were assaulting and inebriated O’Day: she has no recollection of this incident.
Unfortunately, O’Day wasn’t the only one with an uncomfortable work relationship involving Combs. Bad Boy co-founder, Kirk Burrowes, used to be very close with Combs, but he admitted that his relationship with him was troubled. Burrowes has sued Combs after alleging that he tried to change the signed contract to be more favorable to him without Burrowes knowledge, but Burrowes’ charges were dismissed against Combs. In the docuseries, Burrowes briefly shared that he as well has been a victim of Combs’ sexual abuse, but wouldn’t share much more about his trauma.
Also involved in the interview was Combs’ former assistant, Capricorn Clark. Clark had a very long, close relationship with Combs and was a very loyal assistant to him. Clark denied any knowledge of the brutal assaults and other actions that Combs was involved in, other than the unfortunate brutality in his long term relationship with American singer, Cassie. Allegedly, Combs kidnapped Clark with a gun and told her “Get dressed, we’re going to go kill [him]” then proceeded to bring her to kill American singer and actor Kid Cudi because he found out Cassie was cheating on him with Cudi. Clark took the stand with this story during Combs’ trial in early 2025, but the public bashed her and had many doubts about the story, this was voiced by the jurors that were interviewed. Clark states that to this day, the kidnapping is the biggest thing that haunts her from her time around Combs, she felt so betrayed by someone she trusted.
Following that, there were interviews with two jurors, juror #106 – a woman, and juror #75 – a man. Many people in the media have been hating on juror #106 because she gives off much of a star-struck super fan vibe throughout her interviews, even though she said she was “not a fan,” yet recognized some of his mannerisms. Neither of the jurors had any doubts about their verdict. Juror #106 stated that they couldn’t just convict him on the basis that he’s a terrible person, nor were any of the charges domestic abuse, so they made the decision they believed was right based on the information they were handed. Juror #75 expressed his doubts of Cassie’s stories due to the many holes and contradictions throughout them.
This docuseries was extremely suspenseful and was filled with tearjerking stories. Although there are many pending lawsuits and investigations against Combs’ to this day, some of the public believes justice was served. Yet many others are outraged about the lack of justice served to the large quantity of people that were negatively affected by Comb.
