Coming off a 22-1 season as state finalists last year, the boys’ tennis team has high hopes this season. Behind the leadership of coach Stephen Ferris and a mixture of upper and lower classmen, the team is poised to have another strong season. Sophomore Samukh Pathi leads the way as the the first singles player Junior Alan Dubrovsky plays behind at the no. 2 position. Seniors Nathan Lookwhy, Anuraag Gupaluni, and Bryan Zheng also play crucial roles on the team as Lookwhy is the third singles player while Gupaluni and Zheng play first doubles.
Junior Richard Zhu is optimistic about the upcoming season commenting, “Our goal this year is to win states. We just need to take it one step at a time.”
Due to the snow and rain delays, the Rangers have only played one match in which they defeated Hudson in a 5-0 sweep. This coming week the team has four matches.
