Bethi Ledoux, a 2010 graduate of Westborough High School, is now the coach of the freshman girls’ soccer team. Coach Ledoux is a fun spirited, happy, and positive person.   Her team is so happy to be the first team to have her as a coach. Before becoming the freshman coach she worked for the town by weed whacking cemeteries. For Ledoux’s four years in high school it was soccer and studying. During her senior year she was captain on the soccer team. Being the captain was well earned, she was playing fifteen years before that.

Coach Ledoux is currently 22 years old and is the oldest of two younger sisters. Her sister Ally is a senior at Westborough High School, and Lucy is in sixth grade at Mill Pond. Coach Ledoux is a graduate from Southern New Hampshire University. Along with playing soccer in high school she continued in college. She minored in business and majored in communication.

As for coaching soccer, she said, “ I thought it would be cool to give back to a community that gave so much to me”. She was delighted when her old former coach Paul Mumby asked her to come back and coach. The freshman team is so excited and happy to have her as a new coach.

Coach Ledoux has lived in Westborough for her entire life and is still currently living here. Along with playing in college and high school she still plays now. She is currently playing in an adult league.

Playing soccer for Westborough High School is one of Coach Ledoux’s favorite memories. “ Being able to grow up and play with the same girls that had such great talent was really cool”. She enjoyed playing for the high school and she’s excited to help the freshman team through it, and watch them grow through the years.

Outside of coaching the freshman team we asked her what her hobbies were. “I don’t know, I don’t really have any hobbies other than soccer. But I guess work out a lot so I guess that counts”. She also helps coach a club called Best FC. Best FC is a well known soccer club around Westborough. As a soccer player for fifteen years has put her in an ideal coaching position. Coach Ledoux is a wonderful person and has given the team a great deal of help and leadership.

And as for advice for high school students, Coach Ledoux remarks, “Enjoy it, every second of it, it goes by fast, very fast.” The freshman girls’ team is very excited and off to a great start of the season with Coach Ledoux.

This was a really interesting article to learn about a former WHS student who came back to coach soccer. The soccer program will benefit from having her back. The authors did a really good job at writing this and making it interesting and entertaining to read.
