Matt Travis leads physical education teachers through proper warm-up

“Who does any type of athletic training outside of school? If you could get the same training in physical education class, would you take advantage of it?” These are the exact questions that run through Matt Travis’ mind on a daily basis.

For the past ten years, Travis has worked as a physical education teacher here in Westborough for kindergarten through third grade students and for these past two years, he has branched out to work with high school physical education classes to help develop fitness programs in the school. At the professional development meetings that the teachers attend each year, Travis has worked hard and continues to push for improvements within physical education.

“My goal is to help empower as many students and athletes as I can” mentions Travis. “I’m trying to help bridge the gap between long term athletic development and physical education.” By working with the high school, Travis is taking the steps necessary to hopefully make his goal become a reality.

In addition to working in the school system, in 2010 Travis began Athletic Revolution where he continues to make a mark on his athletes. In 2013 he opened a facility in Southborough and has continued to grow as a company as more and more people find out about what he does.

At Athletic Revolution, athletes are motivated to “Show Up, Take Action, Get Results!” Travis has truly built a business that is helping improve the overall health of people of all ages. “I am willing to help anybody for a free strategy session” explains Travis. He wants to give everyone the opportunity to see what works best for them and through personalized workouts, his athletes receive exactly that.

Although Travis enjoys Athletic Revolution, he is doing his best to instill what he does with his athletes during after school hours into the physical education curriculum, encouraging healthy habits by everyone in school. Through teaching proper technique and health in school physical education programs, Travis believes money and time could be spent by the athletes he sees every day.
