The girls’ soccer team was able to tie Nashoba 1-1. This was an impressive feat for the girls considering that Nashoba had beaten Westborough for the past four years.  Senior Olivia Mcgourty netted the only goal for Rangers in this game.

Defense was the focal point for the girls this game because past times against Nashoba showed that they were a force to be reckon with. While the defense played spectacular this game, the Rangers just couldn’t find a way to wake up their offense after Mcgourty’s goal.

“I thought we played very well as a team,” said Co- Captain senior Kylie Bradley. “I think our defense played out of their mind making sure that Nashoba couldn’t score on us, but we needed to do a better job producing more goal opportunities for our offense.

With 14 seniors on the team this and the core of last year’s league championship team intact, the Rangers are ready to make another appearance in the playoffs this year and try and overcome their stunning first round loss of last year’s playoffs.

There are mighty expectations for the girls this year and this year’s team feels like they can live up to those expectations.
