Tucker Morin Prepares for Senior Season

By Michael Townsend and Mohammed Ramzanali

Most of us know Tucker Morin for one reason or another. The large, muscular senior plays 3 varsity sports – football, ski team, and baseball – while maintaining stellar grades, an active social life, and a great degree of participation in the community. Along with Daniel Lis and Anthony Casparriello, “Big Tuck” is slated to be two way starter and captain for the 2015 football program, the first under new head coach David Tinglof.

Prior to the season, the entire coaching staff from the 2014 season – with the exception of the freshman coaches – were replaced by Tinglof, winner of the 2012 Massachusetts Division 5 Super Bowl as the head coach of the West Boylston program, and his staff. As a result of these changes, Morin and the other captains serve not only as leaders, but also as promoters of the new system advocated by Tinglof. “Coach Tinglof knows what he’s doing,” stated Morin. “He makes us work hard and work smart, and I think if we follow his lead we will definitely have more W’s on Fridays and Saturdays.” Morin has served as an important source of communication with Tinglof and the other coaches since early in the preseason.

Morin has played football since he was a child. “I have always been kind of strong for my age, and I have always enjoyed hitting people, so I turned to football because it seemed to be the right sport for that,” said Morin when asked how long he had played football. Morin, who plays left guard on offense and middle linebacker on defense, will be a third-year varsity starter this year after not playing as a freshman due to injury. Morin’s favorite things about football include “the camaraderie and the hitting aspect.” Morin wants to win but at the same time he wants to inspire his teammates to work harder every single day at practice and off the field.

Multiple colleges are interested in Morin, among them prestigious Brown University, as well as Middlebury College, Colby College, Elon University, and Ferman University. When asked if he had anything to say to Ranger Nation, Morin got straight to the point: “They should prepare for a new era, come out to a lot of games, and get rowdy but also, and most importantly, have a lot of fun.”

I think they did a very nice job with this article. I thought there was a lot of good information in the article. I also like how they Incorporated quotes from the football coach to add more information about Tucker.

I found this to be a pretty effective profile, however, I think it could flow better. I think some of the transitions used to build up to the quotes could be fixed up a little bit to flow better and make the quote more clear and effective.
