The Westborough Rangers Boys’  soccer teams had a rough day against Algonquin on Monday, October 27. However, when the last game of the night came, the Varsity Girls’ Soccer team was able to bring home a win.

In the first half, freshman forward Skyler Barry was able to pass the ball past the goalie for the first goal of the night, putting the rangers up 1-0 after the first 20 minutes. Not long after, Algonquin scored to tie up the game.

The second half began even stronger for the Rangers as they were determined to beat their biggest rival. With the intentions of being victorious, sophomore midfield player Emily Longo was able to rip a shot into the top right hand corner, while Barry scored again later in the game.

Although Algonquin was able to snipe one more shot passed freshman goalie Chelsea Taylor, key defenders of the night, juniors Alice Reh and Maddie French, were able to prevent multiple goals as they continued to clear their lines.

By bringing home a 3-2 victory against their rivals on senior night, the team was able to avenge the loss earlier in the night for the boys.
