This past Tuesday, September 9th, the Westborough High School girls’ soccer team played Nashoba Regional High School as the first game of the week for the Rangers fall season. Going into the game, the girls were 1-1 and underdogs to the Chieftains who are favored to win the District title.

In the first half junior Megan Hippeli crossed a corner kick to be scored by senior Becca Siegal leading the Rangers to a 1-0 score at half time. Toward the end of the second half, Nashoba scored, finishing the game off with a 1-1 tie.

As the first Game of the Week, there was not a very large fan section of students; however there is still time for this to improve. The next Game of the Week is Cross Country versus Quabbin on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 4pm.

There is no specific Game of the Week next week, September 15th through 19th, due to the week of Under the Lights. Games will be held every night at 7 pm beginning with Girls’ soccer on Tuesday night, followed by Girls’ field hockey Wednesday evening. Boys’ soccer will kick off Thursday night, leaving football for Friday night at 7pm to conclude the week of Under the Lights.
