On Saturday, September 13, the 2014 WHS Ranger football season will kick off as the Rangers host the Nashoba Chieftains.  With strong returning seniors and talented newcomers, the Rangers are poised for one of their most successful seasons in years.  This year’s captains are seniors  Jake Srebnik, Mike Heffernan,  Marco Cadaveico, and Anthony Agreda.  All are returning players with a passion for Ranger football.

Both the offensive and defensive lines show great potential with a combination of size and athleticism. Westborough’s skill positions possess exceptional speed that they can hopefully take advantage of on the field. Senior cornerback Zach Chason says about the season, “I’m excited for the year.  I think this team has a lot of potential and at our best we’re as good as anyone.  Now it’s up to us to put in the work and make it a successful season.”

The biggest fear for the Rangers this year is injury. Without a deep roster, losing guys could prove to be extremely detrimental. This could be one of the better Westborough football teams WHS has seen in a while.
