April 1 is usually a day where everyone gets together to crack jokes and tell fibs, but this April Fool’s day was not a joke for the WHS boys’ lacrosse team, as they took the field fierce and strong as ever.
Tuesday, April 1 marked the start of the Westborough Rangers boys’ lacrosse season. With remarkable leading senior captains, Kevin White, Kyle Lemack, Connor Joyce, and Mike Gallo, the team was able to pull out a win against a strong opponent, Wachusett Regional High School. Finishing the game with an impressive score of 14-6, the Rangers are starting off their season well, giving many of the players a chance to score in the first game.
Manager junior Zach Smith says he is expecting a successful season this year and he hopes to see the team continue to perform well. This year the boys have numerous seniors returning to the team who lead with strength, agility, and talent.
With a couple of incoming new athletes, the team is confident to achieve a winning the season and move on to districts. As the season progresses, they hope to draw a bigger base. Let’s hope the team continues this streak with another win against Shrewsbury on Thursday April 3.
