This year’s Cheer captains are seniors Ella Sung, Daphnne Cabrera, and Nina Ribbe; they are looking forward to their last season at WHS and have many aspirations for this year. Ribbe and Sung have also expressed their excitement for the new team as well as for their new head coach, Emma Furmanick. Ribbe shared how she believes their coach wants the best for the team and hopes the captains have a great senior year.

As they enter their last year of cheer, Ribbe and Sung hope for Westborough to finally be able to compete.

Ribbe shared, “We haven’t competed since 2016 and It would be a great way to end our cheer career!”
The captains are extremely confident in their skills and abilities to be able to take Westborough Cheer to the next level.

Ribbe also expressed “We have a lot of talent and the environment on the team is really positive.”

Sung and Ribbe explain the love and support they possess on the team. For the captains this is their second year leading the team, their first year a lot of time was spent trying to build the team up. Now they’re ready to start growing their skills and focus on their efforts to compete.

“In cheer there is a lot of trust and I think we have really grown with that these past years,” Ribbe said.

Sung and Ribbe are very confident and hopeful for their season and are stoked to get started with the Pep Rally this year. With new uniforms, a new head coach, and a huge positive team environment, the cheer team is ready to dominate the 2022 season.
