Countdown to April Break!
Have a Wonderful Break!

Where’s the room for dipping sauce?

“Where am I supposed to put my ketchup?!” “MY HOT SAUCE IS ALL OVER MY PLATE!!” There are new lunch trays. And it is the high school’s way of saving the planet and saving money. I think. Just an FYI, I am going off on what I have heard about the new lunch trays, so if anyone reading this wants to cut off my head for stating something wrong about them, just know, I don’t know everything. Or do I? Anyways, these lunch trays are really killing me. My weird eating habit is having a chicken patty at lunch with hot sauce to dip the patty and the french fries in. But how can I do that when the plates are lined in slippery plastic and since it’s runny, it begins to expand all over the plate!? I know this may be the smallest concern to most people, but this really is a big dilemma to me.

Actually, I decided that this is a big concern. Are we really saving money here? Does anyone know? And how is this reducing the amount of styrofoam? Because now there is plastic on them too. Hmm. It also seems to reduce the amount of food Dotty can put on our plates. And when there are mashed potatoes involved, I’m not sure if I like that. Well, does anyone else believe that this is a big deal, or am I sadly just weird? Well even if I am, I’d rather be upfront about it. So here it goes, I’m weird. I just can’t get over my hot sauce dilemma, can you? What do you all think of this? Is there any room for your dipping sauce?

Plastic isn’t good for the environment, so if the trays are lined with plastic that it bad. It’s probably more to save money than to help the earth. If the school actually cared about helping the earth, they would get sugar-cane based trays. I’ve researched these and they have an appearance similar to styrofoam trays and have many compartments. If we have enough money to buy a T.V. for the lobby and all sorts of technology for the teachers, why don’t we have enough money to get environmentally friendly trays?

Your post was so funny, and I agree completely.
I rarely buy lunch, and the one time I did, it was when they had these new plates.

Everything was getting all mixed up, and I like having my food in separate sections. It was so gross and tasted strange.

You also made a good point about how much we’re actually saving, and how effective this is in protecting the environment.

      Thanks for the read!

Hi Vanessa i agree with everything your saying, even the part about you being weird. I dont like how my hot sauce gets everywhere either, and i do notice your frustration during lunch with the plate dilemma, what are we in kindergarden?
