As the seasons are changing, new seasonal drinks are out at Starbucks and people are eager to try these festive drinks. These new fun drinks are all the rage right now and I got to try out one of the more popular ones on the menu.

As many people love the regular strawberry acai refreshers from Starbucks, they decided to come out with a new holiday refresher that is hopeful to bring holiday spirit to a drink. With holiday happiness in the name, the Cran-Merry Orange refresher.  

This new refresher includes a sweet flavor of orange and tart cranberry juice, with a hint of cinnamon spice. This drink can be made with cranberry inclusions or without, and paired with lemonade, water, or coconut milk. The calories from a tall size to a Trenta range from 70-190 calories. So if you’re looking for something sweet but not filled with a lot of sugar, etc, this is perfect for you if you compare it to the original strawberry acai refresher, which ranges from 110-290 calories. 

I tried the Cran-Merry orange refresher which to start off I really enjoyed the name of the drink, it sounded very tasteful and something I would really like. I also was amused by the presentation of the drink, it was an appealing color and I added the cranberries to my drink, which added to the joyous presentation. I also got the refresher with just water, as the lemonade can be a little sweet to me. 

All of these factors made me think the drink was going to taste amazing, however, my first sip of the refresher was not great at all. I felt like the cranberry was very potent in the drink, and I typically enjoy cranberry juice however it was way too much. The bitter yet tangy taste of the orange was just horrible. And overall really tasted like Old Spice deodorant, and I would not get it again. 

I think that possibly if you added coconut milk or lemonade it could make the drink taste better and become more enjoyable but from my first try of the drink, I really disliked the taste. 

I overall would not try this drink again however was a fun try and everyone enjoys drinks differently… so if you want a new drink to try go out and get this new festive drink!
