Rangers Football Sidelined Due to Covid-19 Guidelines

The Westborough Rangers Varsity football game for April 2 has been postponed in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines after several players were deemed close contacts.

The Rangers are currently 0-2 after tough losses to Tantasqua and Nashoba. In a limited season with only 5 games, it is hard to see one get canceled.

Senior offensive and defensive player Kevin McCarthy shared his thoughts on the current situation. “Obviously this is not the way we planned our season to go, but coming in we knew that things like this would be more likely than not. We’re not the first school in Central Mass to have a positive Covid test, so the only thing we can take the proper precautions, make sure we’re healthy, and return to the field as soon as possible.”

The Rangers hope to be back on the field next week.
