Review: The Charli and The Travis Scott Burger

Over the past few weeks, two popular items have been released at fast-food restaurants Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds: The Charli drink and the Travis Scott burger.

For those of you who don’t know, The Charli is named after a popular tik toker named Charli Damelio. At just 16 years old, she has over 89 million followers that continue to grow and expand every day. She also has a collaboration with Hollister and shares a makeup brand with her sister, Dixie Damelio, through Morphe. The Charli is her signature coffee that she gets every time she goes to Dunkin Donuts. It consists of a cold-brew coffee with whole milk and three pumps of caramel swirl.

The other popular item going around is the Travis Scott burger. Travis Scott is a 29-year-old American rapper, songwriter, and singer. He is known for popular songs such as Sicko Mode and his album Astroworld. The Travis Scott burger was inspired by his regular order at Mcdonalds: a burger with onions, ketchup, mustard, pickles, two pieces of cheese, shredded lettuce, and bacon. To top off the whole meal, the beverage on the side has to be a sprite.

Students at WHS were eager to try the new items and hoping for something they’ve never had before. Shown in the video, senior Rachel Fredman and our guest, Jane Cusson, both enjoyed the Travis Scott burger rating it 7/10 and 8/10. Others in our school, however, were not a fan. Senior Jack Board had tried the burger before and it didn’t please his expectations.

Board states, “It was not only overhyped, but it just was a regular quarter pounder with stale bacon.”

He also adds he “ would not recommend it” and it’s a “waste of money.” The only good thing that came from his experience was, “When ordering it in the drive-through, you can yell a variety of things and the workers will still understand what you are trying to order.”

Similar to the Travis Scott burger, some students were not impressed with The Charli. Freshman Yael Bugeav did not like The Charli. She says she wouldn’t recommend the drink as “ it tastes like a normal coffee.”

Bugeav also adds, “ It didn’t have the strong cold brew tastes as other coffee does. I was expecting something more special but, it’s just like any other coffee with caramel.”

With mixed reviews about both items, people have expressed both their love and hate about the items not only in WHS, but also all over social media. If you’re willing to try either of these new items, definitely go for it especially if you’re a fan of Charli or Travis Scott.
