An effective DJ can make or break a dance. In the case of Brian Rivas, the DJ for Westborough High School’s senior ball, the party couldn’t have happened without him.
DJ Rivas has years of experience performing at corporate events, parties, and dances. Along with his cousin Anthony Agreda, or DJ Tony D, the two make a duo that can’t be beat. For Westborough High School’s senior ball, DJ Rivas came prepared to meet any request. With songs ranging from country to hip-hop and from new hits to throwbacks, DJ Rivas always had something cued up to please the crowd. Not only did he know what songs would get everyone on the dance floor, he also added his own creative spin to them.
Flawless transitions and live mashups were just some of the things DJ Rivas offered on Friday that many other DJ’s wouldn’t have been able to produce. With such combinations as All I Do Is Win with Trap Queen and others like Roses with Love Yourself, there was never a dull moment. Senior Kara Diorio commented, “The music was great! [He] kept the songs moving from one to the next so that there weren’t awkward pauses in between.” Of course there were some errors in his performance, a skipped beat here or there, but these things are to be expected with the genuinely unique performance DJ Rivas provides.
Friendly and limited interactions with the crowd also made them feel like they were a part of the performance without being intrusive or disrupting the beat. All in all, his one of a kind performance made the night fun and memorable for all the seniors that attended.
