As the presidential race continues, Donald Trump is shocking America with his outrageous commentary and mind-blowing remarks. Despite this, he is still a top candidate in the Republican poles. The concern is, if he is offending so many people, how could he run a country? Donald Trump does not deserve to be President of the United States of America.

An effective president has to be driven and motivated as well as respectful and open-minded. Some may argue Donald Trump is motivated and driven, but he is certainly neither respectful nor open-minded. He is constantly swearing, embarrassing our government, and is never politically correct. He advertises the phrase, “Make America great again”, while he comes up with rather far fetched proposals such as building a giant wall around our southern border.

Donald Trump is certainly not afraid to speak his mind, even if it dramatically affects others in negative ways. He specifically has shared his misogynistic views on women. On multiple occasions he has called women “pigs,” “dogs,”  “slobs,” and “disgusting animals.” Trump also tweeted about Huffington Post co-founder, Arianna Huffington,  saying: “[She] is unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man—he made a good decision.” In today’s modern day society, women should be seen as equals to men and shouldn’t be treated differently because of their gender. It is not acceptable for women to be downgraded, especially because of their appearance. With all his offensive comments towards women like this one, it should really leave you thinking if this is really the kind of person they want running your country.

In addition to his sexist views on women, Trump has been dominating headlines with racist comments about minorities.  Trump stated that he wouldn’t allow any muslims into the country because of the string of recent terror attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California. He said, “[I am] calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on”. This alerting comment is not only racist but reminds us of similarly horrific ideas put into action, such as the Holocaust in Nazi Germany and the internment of Japanese Americans after Pearl Harbor.Trump has also expressed his views on immigration stating: “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bring crime. They’re rapists… And some, I assume, are good people.”

It is not a big surprise that Republican Party approval ratings are the lowest they have been since 1992, and Donald Trump is the cause of this. To start off, he never explains his plans for the future. When asked what he will do in certain political situations and crises, he responds with, “something terrific” but never actually gives details. In addition, Trump lacks the experience to run this nation. Never once has Trump even acquired a government job of any kind. If you want a president who considers your opinion, Donald Trump is not the guy for you. He simply doesn’t care at all if people agree with what he does and thinks. Not only are his political strategies questionable, but his economic skills are as well. While Trump is known as one of the richest men in the world, people usually don’t know that he has gone bankrupt four times.

So if you have the chance to vote this upcoming year, just remember one thing; if you really want to make America great again, don’t vote for Donald Trump.
