Miles Henderson is the current president of the Class of 2019. In addition to managing this job, he is a swimmer, runner, pianist, and is extremely involved in the community.
Henderson, has grown up and still is a resident of Westborough. He lives with his mom, dad, younger brother, and sister. His parents are his role models because he believes, “They were both hard workers in school and influence me to do better.” Henderson also strives to be a good influence for his younger siblings.
In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano, which he has done for five years, playing with his new puppy, competing in triathlons, and swimming competitively. Henderson competes in the “A” category for Westborough’s club swim team, the Westborough Raiders. His favorite stroke is freestyle. Henderson is not participating in any sports currently, but he plans on joining the swim team in the winter and running track in the spring. Henderson is interested in becoming a part of the Unified track team at the high school. (This is a program where Westborough high school students run with peers who have disabilities.) Also, Henderson has joined the both the Best Buddies Club and the Rangers For a Cure Club.
Henderson chose to run for class president because he thought it would help improve his leadership, be a good experience to learn how to interact with others, and help the class of 2019 by having fundraisers. So far as president, Henderson has chosen the slogan “Think B19, Dream B19ger,” designed class spirit wear, and is working on setting up a booth at homecoming.
Henderson plans to have fundraisers at restaurants such as Panera, Chipotle, and Moes. He is also thinking of having other fundraisers at fun places like Sky Zone or Laser Craze. The money raised at these events will be used for things such as prom and senior ball. Henderson also wants to get everyone in the grade involved by creating a class bulletin board. Henderson is going to run for president again next year because he thinks, “It is a good experience for me because I get to meet a lot of new people and I get to work on my responsibility.”
This past summer, Henderson went on an Outward Bound retreat in California for one week without anyone from his family. He hiked Yosemite National Park with eight other teenagers and two adults. During this trip he learned about leadership and responsibility; he got to meet and interact with new people.
For college, Henderson is interested in staying close to home to be able to visit family, but wants to leave Massachusetts. Also, he is interested in an Ivy League school or the University of Vermont, which both of his parents attended. In the future, Henderson is thinking about becoming a scientist or a doctor because he enjoys learning about science in school.
For now, Henderson is focused on making this year the best it can be. How many Miles will he take the class of 2019?

Nice article Jessie and Kayla. You guys did a good job of describing why Miles ran for president, why he wanted to be president and what he hopes to gain out of being president. I especially like the last sentence of the profile it was a creative way to wrap it up.
