This upcoming Saturday marks the 6th annual Rangers Tackle Leukemia, a charity football game to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Run by Rangers For A Cure, this event is one that everyone looks forward to every year, always with great turnout. The WHS varsity football team will support those suffering from these diseases, sporting orange socks during the game. There will be a table set up collecting donations, with a raffle full of great prizes. Charity tee shirts will be sold for $10.
With the community excitement of the new upper turf, club officers Emma Connelly, Shriya Krishna and Bethany Woodcock feel very hopeful about the event and its success.
“The event has always been successful in the past, and I’m excited to be working the event and help to plan it this year. We have a really great group of officers and we are all so motivated,” says club president Emma Connelly.
The game will be played this Saturday, October 6, at 2 p.m. on the upper turf.
