WHS Social Studies teacher Mr. Chapman is known for his spirit and interest in sports. Born and raised in North Attleboro, MA, Mr. Chapman ended his football career to settle down and become a history teacher. Growing up, Mr. Chapman was passionate about football and baseball. Up until his freshman year of high school, Mr. Chapman played baseball. However, he played football all through high school and college. Making his way up from his high school team, the Red Rocketeers, to the Crusaders of Holy Cross, Mr. Chapman has always been a team player.
Mr. Chapman is a die-hard Tom Brady fan as his favorite football team is the New England Patriots. In the class room, a couple friendly bets and arguments take place between favorite teams, players, and the results of previous games.
Some of his other interests include jogging, reading, and a special interest in movies. Some of his bonus questions even pertain to movie settings, actors, or awards won. Mr. Chapman tries to keep the classroom interesting while telling up to date facts on the latest events. “There are no dull moments in the classroom”, as Mr. Chapman says, seeing different students each day year to year with new personalities is one of the main reasons he enjoys being a teacher. First getting started, Mr. Chapman was a substitute teacher over breaks and observed his sisters 5th grade class. It was a good fit for him as he started thinking about career options. He realized he had skills to offer and is now a history teacher for Westborough High School after retiring his Crusaders jersey.
