For those of you who already know, there is another new Alien vs. Predator game out that has supposedly been out since last year. But unlike the other games that had several glitches and weren’t worth the buck, this game has put the honor and fear back into the Alien vs. Predator franchise.
This game has been rated M for mature as a “very gory game,” but it also gets a four out of four as a game that will cause you to have a heart attack.
In the game, you can play in three different campaigns as the aliens, predators, or humans. Like the movies, you get most of the weapons and tools that each character uses.
As an alien you have the usual claws, tail, acid blood, wall climbing/jumping. Now there is the ability to see in the dark and through walls that even the mighty predator can’t hide from when cloaked.
The predator has the wrist blades, cloaking, shoulder gun, spear, throwing disc, super jump, and most of the scanners that let you see what you’re up against. There is also the favorite thermal image, including alien vision that helps you spot aliens and humans easier. The problem with the thermal vision is you can only see humans, and when in alien vision, you can only see aliens.
The humans have the standard sniper rifle, machine gun, flares and shoulder light, movement scanner, smart gun, and the flame thrower.
The campaigns in the game have all of the characters go through the same locations, but at different times in the game.
The campaign for the aliens is that the main character is named Specimen Six, “due to the 6 the humans branded into his head.” He is born in a lab and due to some technical malfunctions he escapes from there.
Most of the time you do what all aliens do: you kill, destroy, cause mass mayhem/hysteria, and capture more hosts to increase the number of aliens on the planet.
For the predator campaign you play as an elite predator and you’re sent to the planet to destroy aliens, humans, and dead predators to get rid of all of the technology his race left behind millennia ago.
Now, in the human campaign you play as a new recruit for the marines named Rookie. Your job is to get rid of all of the aliens and predators from the planet “that scenario never ends well in the movies” and to survive most of the time alone. This campaign is the scariest one because you are in the dark with very limited visibility and your foes are able to hide everywhere. They will not even make a sound till they strike, which makes the experience very scary.
I think that this game is awesome and worth buying because it will scare you silly. This game has great graphics. The controls are very good and you have an understanding of how each side feels in this titanic three way battle for survival.
I give it 5 stars out of 5 because of its excellent blend of fear and power.
