How can I get involved in my community? By joining the Interact Club at Westborough High School. Interact is an awesome community service club that allows you to communicate with your community and meet amazing people. The club meets the first Thursday of every month in room B301 during the school year. This year Interact’s officers are Anne Blackney, Amber Gross, and Nadia Ragounath. Interact’s advisor is Mrs. DeBoer. Interact’s members try to do at least one community service a month. Anne Blackney says, “In the year we’ll be volunteering at and cooking food for Jeremiah’s Inn, and volunteering at Whittier Hospital.” Interact has an amazing service project for Halloween.
This Halloween Interact’s members will have a can drive. They will go to neighborhoods collecting cans. Then they will donate them to the food pantry. “It’s a fun project because some people dress up in Halloween costumes and you can still get candy while you’re collecting cans if you want to,” says Anne Blackney. If you’re looking to be involved in a club who does community service, then join Interact. Become involved by going to room B301 on November 6, 2008 or talk to Mrs. DeBoer anytime in B301.
