Are you ever looking for a nice, quick cup of coffee to start your day? Or a fresh, warm pastry? One of Westborough’s most beloved Cafes is Red Barn Coffee Roasters, located at 17 South Street. Red Barn, a local business, has been a staple in Westborough for decades, but with an ever-changing menu, we are here to give a fresh take on some delicious items.
At Red Barn, they have many specialty flavors, and I, Sady Allen, tried a medium creme brulee hot latte with whole milk. The creme brulee speciality flavor is made up of a perfect mix of white chocolate and caramel, topped with whipped cream. This mix of the caramel creates a nice sweet, warmth while the white caramel adds a smooth finish. With that, the caramel added a nice, creamy touch. If you enjoy a nice caramel latte with only slight sweetness and rich flavor, this drink is definitely for you. It’s a great, cozy way to start off your day.
I, Hannah Newmark, tried another one of Red Barn’s specialty coffee flavors, the iced caramel delight. This is a latte with caramel, hazelnut, and coconut flavoring. The drink had a perfect balance of sweetness, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The flavors complimented each other really well. Additionally, the caramel flavoring definitely stood out the most out of all of the flavors.
Another drink that I got was the Milky Way iced latte, which has chocolate and caramel flavoring. For people who prefer a less sweet drink, this one would be right up your alley. The chocolate and caramel flavors worked cohesively to create a refreshing coffee, perfect to start your mornings with.
Red Barn also has a great selection of baked goods and pastries to snack on. We tried the apple cider donuts, and the cinnamon buns. The apple cider donuts were coated with a perfect amount of cinnamon sugar, and had a strong apple taste which was delicious. We would definitely recommend trying this delicacy on a nice fall day. The cinnamon bun was heavily coated in icing on the top, and the sweet cinnamon sugary flavor melted on your tongue with each bite you took. The cinnamon bun was very sticky, so make sure to grab a couple of napkins before eating it.
The environment and staff within Red Barn are very homey. Once you walk in, you get a warm welcome from the staff. They are very outgoing and definitely uplift the overall experience. The second we walked in, the staff opened us to many options and were very patient while we were choosing what to order.
