Westborough Rangers fall sports teams are back and ready for action! From football to field hockey, students are very excited to get back to playing the sports they love during the fall season. These sports include boys soccer, girls soccer, football, field hockey, volleyball, cross country and boys golf.
Boys Soccer:
Westborough boys soccer has seen some big changes this year as they progress up to Division I. Captains Chrystian DeSilva (Sr.), Pedro Oliveira (Sr.), and Jack Biddle (Sr.) will be taking charge this year for the Rangers soccer team. Center Back Jack Biddle confidently noted that this year’s team has seen improvement from last year, acquiring a new and important member of the team: Coach Beidleman. The team went from a .200 record last year in Division II to now a .500 record in Division I after their victory over Wachusett High School, where player Ryan Payant made a clutch penalty kick to win the game for the Rangers. This season is looking positive for the boys soccer team.
Girls Soccer:
Westborough girls soccer has started off their 2025-26 season positively with a record of 4-1-2. Captains for this year include Jess Braden (Sr.) and Caroline Queenan (Sr.), leaders on the Rangers Girls soccer team who have shown their love for the team and the game. Miyum Saring, a sophomore who is on the team, seemed positive about this season and discussed how the team works well together, giving a lot of assurance to the players as they know each one has the other’s back.
Football:
The Rangers football team has been preparing all off-season for the exciting season ahead with a new group of players taking the field this year with a crew mostly made up of juniors, with the exception of only eight seniors. Rangers football moved up a division this year and additionally moved up in their league from Midland Wachusett B to A, a promotion from previous years. The Rangers this year will be led by captains Noah Pierre-Louis (Sr.), Ben Wickline (Jr.), Zavonte Walker (Jr.), Aiden Chen (Sr.), and Ryan Ferrecchia (Jr.). After a good playoff run last year, the Rangers have high expectations for this year. With three disappointing losses so far, the team will look to beat Doherty Memorial on Friday, October 3rd.

Volleyball:
The Division II championship team last year was a force to be reckoned with, but if you thought that was impressive, that wasn’t the only championship win in recent years. That win was the finishing piece to a ‘three-peat’ for Rangers Volleyball. This year’s Volleyball team will be led by captains KK O’Reilly (Sr.), Leila DiTullio (Sr.) and Grace Hadley (Sr.). As of this year, the team has moved up to Division I and currently holds a 6-1 record with key player Al Regnier showing up to play with 4.9 kills per set and Hadley with 8 total blocks so far. Additionally, O’Reilly has started the season off strong with 27 serving aces. There’s a big year ahead for Rangers volleyball and another big year ahead for legendary coach Roger Anderson as he enters his 26th season coaching for Westborough Volleyball.
Boys Cross Country:
Westborough boys cross country had their first race the weekend of September 6th-7th, with many finding their place on the team, whether that be upper or lower classmen. Captain Dylan Hosien backs this claim up by stating: “The first race is always about testing boundaries.” Hosien discusses looking forward to the season ahead, positively adding that both upper and lower classmen this year look promising. Hosein courageously declares that he is focused on leading his team and being there to help his teammates when they are in need. Captains of the cross country team this year include Alex Kenny (Sr.), Dylan Hosien (Sr.), and Joaquin Villena (Sr.). With three season runner and track star Marty Goddeau (Jr.) on the team, running a seventeen minute flat 5k, this team is sure to do good things this upcoming season.
Girls Cross Country:
The girls cross country team starts the season off with sparks concluded by a great win against Shepard Hill High School, led by captains: Kate Harasta (Sr.), Kriti Khambadkone (Sr.), Reagan Kittredge (Jr.), Rekha Palayoor (Sr.), and Sylvia Whan (Sr.). Khambadkone focuses on how the team looks so far, saying that the team looks spectacular, and hopes for many runners making it to states. This group of girls connects deeply with the term ‘team’ and shows that with their strength as a whole, they can do anything they set their mind to this season.
Field Hockey:
Westborough field hockey has had an outstanding start to the season with six wins and zero losses. Field hockey captains this year are Sam Kelly (Sr.), Jillian Degnan (Sr.), and Taylor Paine (Sr.). Varsity midfielder Nina Blumberg voiced that the team has been really competitive so far this season, contributing to their six wins. Additionally, Blumberg says that the team is very excited about the season to come and that there are good things in store. This year’s field hockey team also has many rising stars, such as players Daniela Donfrancesco (So.), Emily Paoloni (So.), and Elizabeth Litman (Jr.).

Boys Golf:
Boys gold has started off to a good year with captains Ben Estaphan (Jr.) and Tyler Nelson (Sr.) taking the driver’s seat this season for the team. From multiple player accounts, both the Varsity and JV teams think that they will do well this year.
With lots of excitement brewing this fall for Westborough’s sports teams, players and fans all around are ecstatic for what the school’s teams have ahead. Go Rangers!
