I never believed everyone when they would say “high school goes by fast, it will be senior year before you know it”. I have realized this year that those people are right and it really does go by fast. I feel like just yesterday I was a freshman watching my sister start her senior year, thinking about how much time I had until that was me. As we are weeks away from graduation, I am starting to reflect on how much I have gained from my high school experience, as much as I say I am ready for it to be over. School will always have its ups and downs but as it comes to an end, I am feeling so grateful for everyone and everything these past 13 years in public school has provided me with.
Deciding to take journalism my freshman year and sticking with it all four years of high school was definitely one of the best decisions I could have made. The teachers and mentors in this program truly give so much effort and time to help us be the best students we can be. If you are an underclassman deciding if you should take journalism, sign up for the class. This class is so much more than just an elective students choose to fill up their schedules. I have learned so much from this class, along with the many memories made. I want to thank Ms. Conrad for the constant support and guidance she gave us. I really appreciate everything you have done for us. Although it’s only been 2 years, it feels like so much more. I also really want to thank Mrs. Henderson, Tim, and Aidan for helping us produce amazing broadcasts at Westborough TV. We truly could not have done it without you guys.
I also want to thank my close friends for making high school such a fun and memorable experience. Junior year will forever be my favorite year of high school and I could not have asked for anyone else to be my side through it all. Also my Mom, Dad, Emma, and Brayden, I thank you and am forever grateful for your constant support I have received my whole life.
Overall, high school has been a good experience for me. As I prepare to go off to college and begin as a freshman again, I will now take these lessons WHS has taught me as I start this new chapter of my life. I will miss the memories made at WHS but also am excited for new ones in college.
