Every year, seniors from all across the country participate in Senior Assassin, a highly competitive game. Each town has slightly different rules, but the idea of the game remains the same: shoot your target with a water gun before you get shot.
Each team in Westborough consists of two people assigned to two targets. To advance to the next round, you must eliminate more of your targets than the number of people on your team who get eliminated. For example, if no one on your team gets out, you only need to get one of your targets, but if one of you gets out, you must get both of your targets. If a team member gets out, they are eliminated for that round, but still have the potential to make it into the next round.
For Westborough specifically, we can not go into businesses, houses, or cars. However, we can hide in garages, bushes, and wait outside places. Some towns have the option of floaties or goggles, which can be worn for a limited time of protection. However, to up the stakes, WHS does not have this option.
The key to being successful in this game is having good communication with your partner. It is important to always be on the same page and to have a game plan for how you are going to get to your targets. It is also important to know your target’s target so that you can be in communication with them. But remember, you can’t trust everyone!
In the past, there have been many instances where someone has their good friend as a target, and ends up lying to them about who they have. So, as someone speaking from experience, when your friends ask you to get Taco Bell, think twice before saying yes!
This fun game requires you to potentially speak, and work with new people you don’t normally talk to. Although you are trying to eliminate each other, we have found that senior assassin has brought us closer together as a grade, and is sparking new friendships.
For upcoming juniors, we recommend that senior assassin is a game you participate in. Uniting with your classmates while having fun is the perfect way to end your senior year. A little piece of advice; keep your friends close and your enemies closer! You never know who to trust in senior assassin. Good luck!
