With Christmas just around the corner, the festive and joyous city of Boston has dressed for the occasion. Here are the best places to see lights, decorations, and overall cheer this holiday season:
Faneuil Hall: This busy marketplace has always been the best for seeing lights. Their massive tree at the entrance, as well as their busy shops and restaurants, make them a must see area. They have both stand alone stores and a lovely market inside the building, as well as restaurants in the same manner. Stores and restaurants inside the market typically close at 9, while the other business times vary.
The Boston Ballet: Get your tickets now for their performance of the Nutcracker, which will take place on December 29th. The dancers are described as beautiful and enchanting by the Boston Theatre, a true Christmas classic. If you aren’t a fan of The Nutcracker, they are also performing Swan Lake from February 27–March 16, 2025. Visit bostonballet.org to get your tickets now!
Stone Zoo: Along with Franklin Park Zoo and Southwick Zoo, Stone Zoo is putting on a beautiful light show this winter. As well as their lights, they also offer a little area to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus and a cookie decorating station. Franklin Park Zoo has an amazing walk through lantern experience and Southwick has much of the same. Visit zoonewengland.org to learn more!

It’s free to enter the area, although Ice skating is $20 and meeting with Santa is $15. Be sure to check them out before January 25th
Snowport: This lively market has been around since 2018, although this year it seems to be quite the attraction. Along with a massive Christmas Tree, snowport offers games, shops, and food for the many visitors. Stay aware of crowds when arriving; sometimes the line takes hours to move. But once you are inside this charming neighborhood, you’ll never want to leave.
