The Football Season is just over halfway through the season, and they are ready for the playoffs. The team has been training very hard on their days off in order to bounce back from their heartbreaking exit in last year’s playoffs. The seniors this year are ready to give it their all, as these could be the next couple of games they will ever play in their lives.
I got the opportunity to speak to Senior Captain Andrew Pisciotta where he shared his thoughts on how the season has gone so far. He said, “The season has gone exactly how we wanted it. We wish we could have the week one game back against Burlington, but we have improved ever since that game.” After hearing Pisciotta share this with me it really showed the grit and determination Pisciotta, and the rest of the Rangers football team has.
Next, I asked Pisciotta the question, of what he is doing as a leader this year for the program and how it has led to the team’s success. Pisciotta replied, “I have always felt like a leader in this locker room since I took over the quarterback position a few years back. But now, I feel as if the team relies on me even more so than a few years ago. Something I take pride in is making sure everyone feels as if they are part of a family and give their best effort on and off the field.
I find it very cool how Pisciotta is able to manage not only the game but the locker room so well. Finally, I asked Pisciotta how the team has prepared as playoffs are around the corner. Pisciotta replied, “We are just taking it week by week and trying to win every possible game we can.” Best of luck to Pisciotta and the rest of the Rangers as they eye a state title.
