As soon as fall arrives, Dunkin’ fans know it’s time for one thing: Pumpkin-flavored everything! This year, we’ve decided to try the Pumpkin Donut to break the long wait we’ve endured since last fall. After months of anticipation, it’s finally back—and we’re ready to see if it still lives up to the seasonal excitement. Dunkin’ has recently introduced many specialty items, filling the menu with diverse flavors. From maple to mocha, the options seem endless, but the simplicity and the nostalgia of the Pumpkin Donut continue to re-attract customers every year during this time. It’s more than just a seasonal treat; it’s a tradition, a comforting reminder of autumn mornings, the colorful trees, and the celebration of everything people enjoy about fall. With so many new flavors being introduced, the question is: does this nostalgic flavor hold ground amongst new contenders, or have Dunkin’s newest inventions overshadowed it?
Alec: The Pumpkin donut holds a special place in my heart, especially pumpkin flavors in general. All the new flavors of donuts and drinks are blinding lights to the original favorites everyone enjoys. I enjoy the simplicity of the donut where Dunkin’ lets the flavor speak for itself rather than throwing in obnoxious sweet ingredients to raise the price and calories. I love the classics and always will, the Pumpkin Donut deserves a 9.1/10.
Justin: I hate to say it, but the Pumpkin Donut is overrated. While I certainly respect the Pumpkin Donut’s wide fan base, there are other donuts I would much rather prefer. I’m a huge fan of chocolate and prefer Dunkin’s chocolatey choices like their Double Chocolate Donut! With this said, I give the Pumpkin Donut a respectable 6.2/10!
Jared: I couldn’t agree anymore with Justin. The pumpkin donut is mediocre at best, and it didn’t really have that pumpkin taste I was looking for. I think I would prefer the majority of the donuts at Dunkin over this one due to the fact it really wasn’t that good. I personally enjoy a nice fresh Boston creme donut and would choose that over the pumpkin donut every day of the week. Overall, I would rank the Pumpkin Donut a solid 5.4/10.
Jordan: As the season changes into fall, the menu of almost everywhere houses a new pumpkin spice-related menu item. I have always enjoyed the pumpkin spice flavor, whether it’s coffee, Oreos, or whatever is decided needs new pumpkin variations as fall rolls around. I was very excited to try the pumpkin spice donut but was surprised to find that the pumpkin spice flavor was not very strong and rather very subtle. It still tasted very good but did not stick out compared to other donuts. With the donut coming in at 380 calories with 22 grams of fat, I think other options will be much better. Regardless, the donut still gets a 7.3/10 from me.
