The Cross-Cultural Community (CCC) Club has been a part of Westborough High School since 2021. The club’s mission is to close the gap between English Language Learners (ELL) students and English native speakers at WHS. As the Westborough students’ diverse demographic grows, the club hopes to ensure that all students at WHS feel included and part of the school. They do it by creating events and fun activities for both group of students to do together.

The CCC is planning activities such as pumpkin carving, apple picking, and other fall activities.

“In the past we have watched a scary movie and gone to get ice cream together,” Ms. Buenacosa, the adviser for the club, said.

The club members come from many different countries such as China, India, UK, Brasil, and the United States. The club is open to all Westborough students especially those who are new to the area. Several students have come to the group who are new to the area and not knowing anyone. It can be hard, because Westborough is a place where many students have grown up together and have friendships already when they enter high school.

Ms. Buenacosa reported that after the first year, many new friendships were developed, and the group is still very focused on meeting new people and making them feel comfortable at WHS.

“You should totally come,” Ms. Buenacosa shared. “We are more organized this year, and are going to have a lot of fun things planned during different seasons.”

The club meets every Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. in Ms. Buenacosa’s room C116.

O CCC esteve no festival Homecoming no sábado! Buenacosa, a conselheira do clube.

A Sra.

“Você deveria vir totalmente” encoraja a Sra. Buenacosa.

Buenacosa (C116).
