World Series Prediction

The 2020 World Series begins on Tuesday, October 20, as the Tampa Bay Rays face off against the L.A. Dodgers. The Dodgers are coming off a three game winning streak after making an improbable comeback after falling 3-1 in the series against the Atlanta Braves. The Rays, who had the best record in baseball, are hoping to keep their momentum going after a close 7 games series with the Houston Astros
This series to a lot of people looks lopsided on paper. The Dodgers are a stacked team with a lot of household names led by former Red Sox star and American League MVP Mookie Betts. I agree the Dodgers are a great team but the Tampa Bay Rays should not be taken lightly.
They finished the shortened season with the best record in the league this year and have brought that success to the postseason. Unlike the Dodgers though, The Rays lineup doesn’t have many if any household names. But that doesn’t mean anything to them because that lineup full of a bunch of low profile players have made it to the World Series.
Now like I said earlier a lot of people think this is going to be an easy win for the Dodgers, but we think differently. I believe this series will go seven games and that the Rays will end up on top of the baseball mountain. They’ve been the best and the most consistent team in baseball all year, so why would you bet against that.
The main reason the Dodgers don’t win this series is because of their consistency. They haven’t been the Dodgers everyone expected this year, especially the reigning National League MVP Cody Bellinger. I think if he doesn’t heat up this series the Dodgers don’t get the job done.
Also postseason baseball is all about the pitching staff. The Rays and Dodgers both have a great starting rotation, but it really comes down to the bullpen and that goes to the Rays. Don’t get me wrong, the Dodgers have a good bullpen too; it’s just not as good as the Rays. In the postseason you need arms who can just shut the door on the other team and that’s just what the Rays have and that’s why I think they will win the World Series. In addition, ever since Tom Brady has gone to Tampa they just all of the sudden started to win, and what a lot of people have learned in the past two decades is you don’t bet against Tom Brady, Rays in 7.
