On October 4, 2019, a new Netflix Horror film came out leaving curiosity with its suspenseful trailer. In the Tall Grass is rated TV-MA for it has some vulgar language and certain parts are very violent and thematic.

This movie features actors Laysa de Oliveira, Patrick Wilson, Harrison Gilbertson, and Avery Whitted, all who played their fearful characters beautifully and make the film all the more worthwhile to watch.

This Netflix Original Movie takes place somewhere close to San Diego in an abandoned church and a tall grass field is near. The movie starts with a pregnant Becky DeMuth (Laysa de Oliveira) and her brother, Cal DeMuth (Avery Whitted) driving along on what seems to be an abandoned town highway. They stop the car near the tall grass that appears to be going on forever. After getting out of the car they start to hear calls of help coming from the grass. This leads Becky and Cal to enter the grass causing them to have many terrifying encounters and events in the field. During the movie, more characters continue to enter the greenery. From the beginning of the film, the storytellers make sure that the viewers understand that this grass field is not the norm. People continue to get lost, separated and moved through the grass.

While watching this movie you should know that there are many jump scares and supernatural concepts. The actors portrayed their characters in a way that makes viewers anxious about what happens next, and so does the movie itself with things such as scenery and sound.

If I were to rate this movie out of 5 stars I would give it 4 stars because I thought this movie was well put together. However, as I watched, there were a lot of parts in which I was thoroughly confused and didn’t quite understand what was going on.

I would definitely give this movie a try since it is free on Netflix. I would recommend not watching this movie with young kids or anyone who doesn’t enjoy fast-paced, horror films. You also should be aware of the number of gory images shown throughout the movie. Some scenes contain people who were very hurt with lots of blood shown.

As a whole, I would definitely say that this movie,although intense at times, is a movie you should take time to see. If you enjoy watching horror movies, this is definitely the movie you should watch.
