“Rain, Rain, go away, come again another day!”
Even though this nursery rhyme rarely parts clouds and brings back the sun, anyone can stay dry with a North Face Women’s Venture Jacket.
Starting at $99.00 the jacket is definitely pricey, but not without quality that compensates. Jackets come in a variety of colors, including casual black, spring green, and bright neon shades for hikers that want to be easily found in case of emergency. The jacket includes a hood with hidden drawstring for easy adjustments, two side pockets as well as hidden ones inside the jacket, and “pit-zip pockets” to help the wearer cool off. It is made with a waterproof material on the outside to ensure dryness while the inside is mesh to promote air flow and avoiding excess sweating. The thin, lightweight material makes the jacket compact and perfect for stowing in a purse or packing in a hiking bag on an expedition.
The product is available in stores and online on North Face’s website for the listed cost and also on Amazon for minimally reduced prices. For those wary of online shopping, the jackets run true to their size with 92% of consumers agreeing that they received exactly what they expected from the sizing.
Despite the countless fancy features and raving reviews that can be found on North Face’s website there are a few cons about the jacket that should be known. With little insulation, its goal is not to keep the wearer warm, so the jacket is best suited to muggy, cool settings as opposed to sleet or snow. The price is also heftier than most rain jackets on the market, but the quality and long-lasting nature of the product may offset the quality of cheaper competitors.
I first ordered my jacket in preparation for college. I knew travelling to London to spend my first semester would mean I needed a long lasting, quality rain jacket to stand up to the drizzly U.K. skies. I ordered the jacket in “clear lake blue heather” and love the rich pop of color of the jacket provides on dreary days. I look forward to trying it out on hikes, runs, and around my new home next year.
Keep yourself dry and protected with the North Face Women’s Venture jacket and face the rain without fear.
