Sake Hana, conveniently located on South Street in Westborough, provides a delightful Asian cuisine with a lot to offer. As you enter the restaurant, the dim lights and muted colors immediately create a hushed and peaceful atmosphere. Soft and mystical music plays tranquilly in the background, and the staff greets you with genuine excitement and smiles.
Throughout the room, exotic plants and calligraphic paintings add to the serene ambiance. The meticulous organization and unique flavor of the sushi that Sake Hana serves is reflected in its neat and cool interior. The menu is thorough and has plenty to serve: it is clearly separated into soups, sushis, teas, and desserts, and filled with pictures of each dish, which makes the ordering process quicker and more convenient for the customers. A waitress brings drinks and takes orders with polite efficiency, and the food is delivered at a surprising speed. Everything is arranged with delicately and artfully positioned on modern plates.
The tables are set with traditional wooden chopsticks, which are always fun to try for newcomers, and little porcelain saucers, which can be filled with soy sauce for dipping. The ingredients are refreshing and delicious: the Californian sushi roll, for example, is made of sticky rice (brown or white), smooth avocado, crunchy cucumber, and flavorful crab meat, all wrapped up in thin, salty, seaweed. You can taste how fresh and new each piece of the meal is. For all vegetable lovers, there are options without fish too! The vegetable roll can be mixed and matched with a variety of fresh veggies on the inside.
There are several traditional Japanese desserts to choose from: a particularly popular one is mochi, an assortment of refreshing ice cream flavors, covered in a sticky but sweet coating and served with a dollop of fluffy whipped cream.
Overall, Sake Hana proved to be an enchanting and tempting destination. The take out option is fairly simple with easy pick up, so you can enjoy Sake Hana’s food anywhere. It is a reasonably inexpensive restaurant to relax in after a long and stressful day, and is definitely worth the trip!
