Looking for a nice place for a manicure in Westborough? Beauty Zone Nails and Spa, located in the heart of town may seem like an appealing venue, but you can’t always count on their services to match up to the standards of the elegant facility.
Walking into the spa, everything seems perfect: customers are immediately greeted with a warm welcome, a wide array of colors lining the walls, and the humming of peaceful background music that kicks off an expected relaxing experience. Upon waiting for one of the many services provided, clients are offered the luxury of a well-furnished waiting area, complete with complimentary refrigerated beverages and a bowl of peppermints. When receiving a service, it is evident that the hygiene is up-to-par—a necessity for a nail salon. Even in what appears to be a sanitary venue, one noticeable crack in their cleanliness is employees who have been spotted relaxing on customer stations with a laptop out and bare feet rather than doing something productive or simply relocating to a break room. Nonetheless, the facility is spacious and equipped with several comfortable nail stations, massage chairs, and a large staff force which nearly eliminates a wait time.
Despite a great outward appearance, the low quality of the services override the perks, preventing Beauty Zone from being defined as an ideal spa. Most notably, the employees appear very eager for their customers to take advantage of the other services available by urging them in a pushy manner. During multiple experiences, technicians have repeatedly pointed out various flaws in their clients in order to encourage them to pay for additional services such as an eyebrow waxing or a more extensive manicure. Furthermore, Beauty Zone’s workers are notoriously aggressive with money. For example, opening a customer’s wallet and yanking out the cash due, demanding to be paid before the service is complete, and pestering their customers for a tip. The quality of the nail-painting or other services is also highly dependent on the technician you are assigned. Some are compliant and skilled while other are lazy, fail to listen, and produce unsatisfying results. For the fairly high prices charged, better services would be expected.
Overall, the disappointing services and attitudes of the staff greatly trump the luxurious facilities. Ideally, a spa should be employed with diligent and professional staff who were clearly absent from this nail salon. Although attractive from the outside, the technicians of Beauty Zone Nails and Spa fail to maintain the level of excellence expected for a serene spa getaway.
