In October 2014, Yummy Mummy Bakery opened at 72 East Main Street, Westborough MA. Previously, the only way to get one of their brownies was to order them online or visit them at a Farmer’s Market. Also in the past, Yummy Mummy only really made brownies but now they serve other items such as cakes, pies, muffins, and other types of baked goods. When you enter the bakery, you are blasted with a nice, elegant and modern setting because of the state-of-the-art scenery. For example, the brand new wooden floor, new countertops and effective lighting and not to mention the extravagant paintings of their best desserts on the walls. Personally this helped us decide what we wanted to order.
Upon arrival, we were not greeted immediately at the door. The employee was not at the countertop at the time, but instead was in the back room. However, we were more than delighted to meet the employee as she was helpful and friendly. She did an excellent job describing the different types of desserts and the ingredients in them. She even helped recommend their personal favorites to us, which were very good tips as it’s hard to decide what you want on your first experience.
As a group, we ordered three different types of brownies: salted caramel, oreo, and german chocolate. The salted caramel, probably one of the more popular brownies, is a great combination of salty and sweet. The oreo brownie adds a nice crunchy texture to each bite with an overload of chocolatey goodness. Lastly, the german chocolate is a thick and creamy brownie delight with crunchy pecans and soft, tasty coconut. Overall the brownies were totally worth the low price of just $3 for a large serving.
Although it’s only open six days a week (closed on Mondays), our group was definitely impressed with our Yummy Mummy experience because of the quality food and great customer service. We recommend if you haven’t been and have a sweet tooth, to make your way to downtown Westborough to the hidden gem, Yummy Mummy Bakery.
