Westborough High School is happy to offer the popular Community Cooking club again this year. The club meets twice a month for a fun food session in which delicious food is prepared to enjoy in a comfortable atmosphere. This club is open to everyone, even those with little cooking experience.
Club advisor Mrs. Leuci says, “I love cooking club. It’s a chance for people in this school to come together to try new things and meet new people, plus it is great community service.” The officers this year are co-presidents Brandon Mignini and Chloe Skraly, vice presidents Jen Hu and Rachel Ziegler, secretary Cassie Disaia, treasurer Bisi Chikwendu, and public relations officer Robin Colbath.
The Cooking Club club features a community service session once a month for an organization called Rachel’s Table that provides food for soup kitchens in theWorcesterarea. President Chloe Skraly says, “I’ve been in cooking club all four years of high school and it’s a great place to make new friends and have fun. My mom and I have been delivering the food for Rachel’s Table to the Friendly House Shelter since I was in 6th grade. It makes me smile every time I go in to the shelter because I know we have done something great for the community and those who don’t have a home.”
In previous years, there have only been two officers so this year’s officers are hoping to improve the quality of the club for all its members. The first meeting is Wednesday, September 11 in Mrs. Leuci’s classroom.
