“Haunting in Connecticut” Haunts All

by Vanessa Bein

Close your eyes ahead of time because The Haunting in Connecticut is a definite scare! Based on a true story, the Campbell family moves into a Victorian style house that is close to the hospital for which their son Matt is getting treatment for a fatal illness. When Matt (Kyle Gallner) starts seeing things like his hand covered in a mixture of blood and maggots or someone with a saw cutting someone’s neck, his doctors and parents believe it’s just hallucinations from his new treatment.

As the movie progresses, Mrs. Campbell (Virginia Madsen) becomes suspicious of the former mortuary townhouse and starts questioning her family. Matt starts getting visions and hallucinations more often and supernatural occurrences happen throughout the house. When everything gets so crazy, Matt and his cousin Wendy (Amanda Crew) call in a Reverend (Elias Koteas) to help investigate what really is happening in the house.

Luckily, after hours of research the teenagers discover the truth about what the house was really used for. As a result, the Reverend does what he believes will make the hallucinations and supernatural occurrences go away. He assumes incorrectly which made the ending a toe curling and scream-oriented event.

This movie is not the normal, predictable, scary movie. The Haunting In Connecticut is a favorite among scary movie goers, and even leave some fearful to walk out of the theater. If you are one who loves a good frightful panic, this movie is definitely for you.
