As I have been walking around the halls of Westborough High School, I have noticed a trend among the girls. Although the trend may be flattering to some, I question, “Is this for real?” The trend I speak of is the cut off jean super short shorts, with the pockets hanging three inches below the denim. I’m sure the men that are reading this are saying, “Woah, Vanessa, I like this look on girls..” but is it really necessary for students and faculty to be looking at girl’s almost bare legs, and a possible peek at the back side? Yes, this is definitely appropriate for a 90 degree day at home lounging by the pool or at the beach, but as we approach 50 degree weather, I wonder what the reason is for wearing these shorts (should I even call them shorts?).

Thinking about it now, are faculty as uncomfortable as I am about seeing this sight? Think about it, how uncomfortable would you be if one of your students walked into class half naked, and you couldn’t help but stare? This is very blunt, but my heart goes out for the male teachers. I’ve always gone by the rule that as long as your shorts go down to your finger tips, they are 100% fine, but with the recent trend I question myself if I have just been too conservative for the past seventeen years of my life. But as a blogger for Westborough High School, I want to know your thoughts. Are these shorts a trend and I need to get over it, or are there others out there that find this style unattractive and unbarring? As I finish my post, my words to you all are: please cover up! It gives people a probable misunderstood judgment of who you might be. Again, the question is to all, to wear? Or too short and bare?
