The incoming freshmen aren’t the only newcomers to this season of field hockey. Junior Varsity Coach Krissy Teevens and Freshman Coach Alison Rheaume are welcomed to the field hockey family as well. One thing that hasn’t changed this season is the 300 plus winning Varsity Coach Colleen Debish. Debish and her team last year went 12-1. The team will miss key players from last year such as former captains, Karly Murphy, Stacie Teevens, and Maddie Fryer. However, the team this year is fortunate enough to be led by talented and all around players seniors Cassandra McGill, Dani Petrunich, and Megan Sullivan. Although the team lost three valuable players last year, Sullivan states, “I think we have potential to do really well this year! We have a great group of girls who are athletic, dedicated, and thrive on teamwork.” Among those girls are seniors Amy Aiello, Erin Burton, Emily Faherty, and junior Anna Petrunich. The varsity team thrives on competition from Quabbin and Shrewsbury, and hopes to beat both teams in their upcoming season. As for now, the Lady Rangers are 2-0 with more wins to come.
