Twenty year old Jason Derulo’s self titled album was released on March 2, 2010. The album features a wide array of songs ranging from the slow, harmonic song “Encore” to the top charted singles “In My Head” and “Whatcha Say” that provide a more upbeat selection on the album.
His talented vocals and rhythmic beats are complimented by his catchy lyrics such as those in his biggest hit “Whatcha Say”:
I was so wrong for so long
Only tryin’ to please myself
Girl, I was caught up in her lust
When I don’t really want no one else
So, no I know I should of treated you better
But me and you were meant to last forever
“Whatcha Say” was released as a single in May 2009 and was a hot summer hit all over the country which topped charts in many other countries as well. Both singles reached top ten spots in the U.S.
Other up-and-coming songs “Ridin’ Solo” and “The Sky is the Limit” are ones for which to listen.
The album was produced by Warner music group and it is Derulo’s first major album of his career. His music is comparable to that of Jay Sean, another popular hip-hop artist. Look for Derulo to release more hit singles in the near future as he has a promising career ahead of him.
