Grafton Grill: A delicious place to dine

Grafton Grill: A delicious place to dine

By: Haley Welsh

The motto “Eat. Drink. Gather.” is very fitting for the Grafton Grill, which opened in Grafton in late 2016. The delicious foods, drinks, and friendly environment make the restaurant a great place to enjoy a meal and spend time with family or friends.

While at the restaurant, I tested many different foods the restaurant serves. For appetizers, I sampled and shared with my family the braised meatballs and crispy calamari, both priced at a comfortable $10.00. Both were served hot and presented well. They took longer to serve than I expected, but overall they were great tasting and reasonably priced.

For my main course, I tried one of  the Grafton Grill’s signature flatbread pizzas. I tried the roasted pear and prosciutto flatbread. This  entree tasted delicious; the portion was large enough for one person, and depending on how hungry you were, could yield leftovers.

This meal, again, took slightly longer than I would’ve hoped but also was reasonably priced at $12.50. Additionally I sampled the seafood risotto, which was well prepared and served hot. It tasted delicious and was slightly more expensive than most things on the menu, at $19.00, but its flavor was definitely worth the price.

For dessert, my party tried the peanut butter cheesecake which tasted good except the graham cracker crust was nearly impossible to break, which was annoying when you tried to take a bite. Overall, the food tasted delicious and was reasonably priced.

Although the service wasn’t quite as fast as I would have hoped, the waitress had a strong knowledge about the menu. She was very helpful in sharing her opinion about the menu; for example, my party could not decide what dessert to order and she told us her preference and why,

She was very helpful; she brought us what we needed and brought the bill when we asked for it.

The restaurant was relatively small compared to most restaurants around this area. However, it wasn’t too small, as they could still fit a lot of people comfortably and it was not too rowdy or loud. It was very clean and the flowers on the tables along with “Grafton Grill” decor around the restaurant made it a very enjoyable environment. Most other parties had between 2-5 people, with the exception of one table that had nearly twenty people.

The restaurant staff did a very good job of not letting this large group take away from their service to other tables and, to me, it seemed like the waiters did a good job of getting this group their food and drinks quickly, even though there were so many of them. The restaurant seems to be better suited for smaller parties, although, as I said, the staff had no issue serving the larger party. I would definitely return to the restaurant because the service and food were both good.

The Grafton Grill is located at 10 Bridge Street in North Grafton, Massachusetts. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, open from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and open from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The Sunday hours are from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Reservations can be made, but are not necessary. The restaurant is busier on Friday and Saturday, so reservations are recommended.
