The co-op girls hockey team is on a roll this season with a record of 8-1.

With a vast amount of talent on this year’s roster, the team started this season off with a six game winning streak. With a strong freshman class, the Colonials have had a successful season. The team started off the season with a 9-1 win over Newton North with every freshman contributing a point that game.

The team had their biggest test yet playing the reigning Division 2 State Champions, Notre Dame Academy of Hingham on Tuesday, January 11. The game was a hard fought battle by both teams, but Notre Dame came out on top with a 5-2 victory. Although they lost, this game proved that they can play with any team.

Captain Meghan Moran said after the lost to Notre Dame, “We have been working hard all season and we still have a long way to go. We’re going to build off our loss and learn from it and, we’re just going to keep our heads up and improve on what we need to.”

Right now the Colonials are the seventh team in the state for Division 2 girls ice hockey. As the Colonials move forward with their season, they hope to keep winning and improving with the ultimate goal of qualifying for playoffs.
