WHS Junior Starts Her Own Mentoring Program
Features Wednesday, June 9th, 2010Nikki Benoit, a junior at Westborough High School, recently created her own mentoring program at Hastings Elementary School for kids who need just a little extra help from a positive role model. In the program, high school students, like herself, are paired with a child. The high school student mentors his/her little buddy once a week after school. Nikki’s goal is for the child to make a connection with his or her mentor and eventually benefit from the weekly meetings.

It is only orthodox for this same apprehension to hold for “Iron Man 2”. The Island that makes you Shutter: A review on the film “Shutter Island”
A & E Wednesday, June 9th, 2010“Shutter Island” is one of the most entertaining movies that has come out in years. From the second it starts to the second it finishes, you are on the edge of your seat. It pulls you in so much that when the ending comes; it really does a number on you.
Without giving the ending away, the key to most of the movie is understanding the details. If you know the director, then you know that every little detail matters. Martin Scorsese is a stickler for details and all of his characters are exact replicas of whomever he is trying to create.
A WHS Alum Flashback: Alexa Raniuk
Features Wednesday, June 9th, 2010Alexa Raniuk, 19, currently attends Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She graduated from WHS last year.
Alexa has many goals she wants to accomplish on her way to becoming a sophomore in college next year such as being accepted into Savannah College of Art and Design a world champion in equestrian, and being successful.
Alexa has had a strong passion for art ever since she could pick up a pencil or a paint brush. She loved using her creativity in painting when she was younger. And now, Alexa wants to begin her future in the Department of Animation.
Mrs. Costa, Living the Math Dream
Features Monday, June 7th, 2010Westborough High School math teacher, Mrs. Costa, grew up in Norwood, Massachusetts. At a young age she realized her career dream was to be a teacher. Greatly influenced by her father, Mrs. Costa set out to pursue that dream during her years of education.
She attended Norwood High School where her favorite subject was Spanish.
After high school she attended Assumption College
