Let the Campaigning Begin! Student Council Releases Election Date

Recently, the WHS Student Council released a time line of dates pertaining to the Student Council and class officer upcoming elections.

On Monday, April 26th, the day school resumes after April vacation; nomination papers will be made available to candidates. Candidates will be required to obtain 25 signatures from members of their graduating class and 5 signatures from members of the faculty by Thursday, April 29th at 2:00 pm, which is the deadline to submit their nomination form to the main office.

It's Time To Give Political Campaigns A Try At WHS

On February 10, 2007 then at the time Illinois Senator Barack Obama officially announced his candidacy for the office of President of the United States. This was a day just about 11 months before the first primary date and slightly under 21 months before the actual day where voters made their choice for president.

Now fast forward to last April 29th , 2009 where during the daily morning announcements students were told to pick up a nomination sheet in order to run for a student council
