SAT’s: An Unreasonable Measurement of Students’ Capabilities

The SAT test, or Scholastic Aptitude Test, is a standardized test most colleges require applicants to take before applying to their university. Besides causing students an extreme amount of stress and time, what is the test’s purpose?

The Truth behind Bullying…. Sort Of

The Truth behind Bullying…. Sort Of

A hot topic in today’s society is bullying. People ask why kids are bullying, how they do it, and where are the adults while this is happening. To me it seems that these adults have forgotten what it was like being a kid. They scream that bullies should be persecuted as strictly as possible. What they don’t remember is that we all have bullied at one time in our lives.
Bullying is defined by www.dictionary.com as “To treat in an overbearing or intimidating manner”. (Key words: overbearing and intimidating). This is the definition many adults now use for what was once consider friendly teasing. This is not bullying. There are obviously a lot of adults who see it as it really is: childhood behavior, but many others over-react and kids get in trouble.

A WHS Senior’s Last Good Bye

A WHS Senior’s Last Good Bye

Throughout the years I never guessed that I would make it to this point in my life where its time to say good-bye. Once I’m gone I will not miss school, but I will miss a few things: the different cultures, people, personalities, lifestyle, and dress of the unique student body that Westborough High School has to offer. The lunch food will never be missed, but I can guarantee the majority of the seniors will miss one thing: that’s the “cookies

Celtics’ GM Fined For His Loyalty

Danny Ainge, Celtics General Manager, was fined $25,000 for “an unauthorized distraction and for conduct detrimental to the game.” The fine was issued by NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson after last Monday’s playoff game between the Celtics and Cavaliers.
During the third quarter, Ainge swung and threw a towel in the air, in order to distract free throw shooter J.J. Hickson. Ainge’s seat was located in the first row under the basket where the free throws were being shot. J.J. Hickson, the shooter, calmly hit the shot despite the distraction. The Celtics went on to win the game 104-86

A Senior’s words about his WHS experience

I do not think I will miss anything about WHS. In later years, however, I may think back on my days at this school and maybe miss something I did do, but for now there is nothing. I can tell in years to come I will have only a few memories of WHS and unfortunately they will not all be good ones.

On February 10, 2007 then at the time Illinois Senator Barack Obama officially announced his candidacy for the office of President of the United States. Words of Thanks from Mr. McCoskery

To the editor, As many people may have noticed, I have been hobbling around the school on crutches for the last 3 months. Though I think the crutches and removable cast are quite stylish, the trend has only caught on with a few students; Kendall Paige has even taken it a step further to go [...]

Heaven Shmeaven: What’s all the fuss about?

Heaven Shmeaven: What’s all the fuss about?

For just about… ever, the human race has obsessed over one simple question: what happens after you die? One can observe this obsession not only in today’s surging sea of media, or simply by sitting through a single religious service, but throughout history. The concept of human afterlife is perhaps the most controversial debate known [...]
