Release Well Being Center: The Place to Be for Healthy Living

Tired of maintaining the cost of a pricey gym membership to little or no benefit? Facing a personal crossroads and hoping a turn to Eastern wellness will improve your lifestyle? Looking to start taking yoga classes? Hoping to get a relaxing massage? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then Release Well Being Center, located at 201 Turnpike Road, may be the place for you.

Owner and operator Linda Townsend has been inspired to open a wellness center since having her own life-changing experience years ago. “I visited Canyon Ranch with my sister and sister-in-law and I had a really young child and was pregnant with my second child and I was working full time. I knew I really needed to make a change in my lifestyle because I was exhausted and overwhelmed all the time. I went there on a mission to learn about wellness and to learn to take care of myself and my family differently.” The experience was so profound that Townsend was inspired to open a wellness center of her very own.

One of the most impressive things about Release is how much it fits into its facilities. Upon first entering, one notices a front desk to the left and a yoga studio to the right. Down the main hallway, one passes the locker rooms and another fitness studio. At the end of the hall, on the left, one find the entrance to “Bliss,” arguably Release’s signature feature. Here, the massage sanctuaries, the Himalayan salt room, the steam room, and 2 infrared saunas (one large for several people, one small for one or two people) all are available for the customer’s personal enjoyment. The Himalayan salt room, in case you have never heard of such a thing, is a room where one sits as Himalayan salt particles are blown throughout the air. The salt particles are able to impose positive changes upon the respiratory system and the skin. Release’s Himalayan salt room is a rare opportunity as the concept is rather new in Wellness circles.

To teenagers, Release is a viable alternative to the gym. At the gym, many people adopt their own workout systems, which can have a negative impact if form is not correct or if the person gets too used to their own routine and stops gaining strength. At Release, the fitness workouts, which are led by skilled personal trainers in small workout groups, are shuffled and the person will never get the same workout two days or two weeks in a row. In addition to its personal training classes, Release also offers yoga, spinning, and boxing among other things.
