IPhone 7 Review

By Eric Gould

With the annual release of the new iPhone 7, many people have been wondering if it is worth the price tag or not. Social media has been in a recent stir regarding the brand new phone. Complaints vary from no changes, to the lack of a headphone jack. However, there are also some positives about the camera installed in the phone, and better visual quality is a common topic. This phone can be argued as a piece of technology worth the price tag, or it can be thought of as a waste of money.

There are many similarities between the new iPhone and the older version, the 6 and 6+. The largest and most noticeable transition Apple has made between these phones is the removed headphone jack.

They have also added the ability to have wireless headphones, which have a current price tag of $159. These airpods also need to be charged and bluetooth needs to be activated if someone desires to use them. This seems like it would be a big inconvenience.

This new feature has been thought of as a step ahead into the future of technology by Apple. Their company is attempting a push to a new generation of ideas for the iPhone. Many customers have complained about the repetitive phone, and that new ideas are needed. Apple seemed to try to satisfy these customers with this new release.

However, the real question is: Is the iPhone 7 worth its price tag of $649-$849? Many people are on the fence regarding this new release, and some believe those features to have a negative impact on the performance or convenience of the phone.

One large addition Apple has made to the phone, is the ability to be water resistant. No iPhone has had this feature in the past, unless a case provided it. The improved battery life, and overall storage make the new phone arguably better than some of the older models.

With all of these new features in mind, some may say the iPhone 7 is not worth the price tag that Apple has placed on it. However, some believe it is and have already bought and are currently using this new iPhone. Personal preference will determine one’s thoughts on the new release.

So, is it worth the price tag of around $750? I would conclude, no. This phone is much too similar to previous models of the iPhone. People may argue that it is faster, has more storage, has better picture quality. But, based on my personal experience I have never had any issues with these features in previous iPhone’s. To me, paying for this phone would be like paying for the phone I have currently, but with no headphone jack and more inconveniences.
