As the holiday season approaches, Rangers for a Cure begins to prepare for a traditional event that they will hold to raise money to help support Saint Jude Children’s Hospital; where the funds will help with cancer research.

Last year, the club was able to make Christmas ornaments from scratch, using flour and different ingredients to make a clay-like substance which was then cooked, cut into different shapes, and decorated with paints. After all their hard work to make these decorative ornaments, they sat outside of Roche Brothers in the cold, snowy December weather and sold as many as they could. With many people wanting to donate during this giving time of year, the club was able to donate about $500 to Saint Jude.

Vice President of the club, Katie Bretta, comments, “Last year, we were trying to think of a fundraiser for St. Jude, and since it was Christmas time, we had the idea of selling ornaments. We had a fun time making them and selling them and were able to make a generous donation.”

Members of the club are once again taking time out of their busy days to help benefit Saint Jude this year. Club members will be outside of Roche Brothers next weekend, Saturday December 20, all afternoon, selling ornaments and are looking for donations to help brighten the lives of those struggling with cancer.

Bretta remarks, “We were successful last year, and are once again hoping for more donations this year.”

Please help support St. Jude Children’s Hospital by buying an ornament to help Rangers for a Cure make a great holiday donation again this year.
